Details and demos

I've created 35 new piano presets based on all the facilities of this excellent VST. Each preset also has Open/Half-open and Closed versions, so your piano lid can be anywhere! Patches are split into "Live" (built for being exposed in a mix, with subtle piano noises), "Studio" (more friendly to running with other instruments, and a different set of ambiences), "FX" (more creative patches using some of the ambience and compression), and "User" (you've got 10 patches you can save to in Kontakt which the Sound Set will pick up - a first for sound sets!).

Here's some demos of various patches running in it smoothly. They're all straight playback of MusicXML downloaded from MuseScore - though with extra hairpins for "cresc" and "dim" instructions (sometimes - I might have missed one or two!). Dynamic range is pretty large on the solo patches.

Bacchanale (Samsom et Delila), Op. 47, Camille Saint-Saëns
Patch: Concert Solo Grand 1 (Fully Open Lid)
‘Moonlight’ Piano Sonata, Op.27 No.2, 3rd Movement, Ludwig van Beethoven
Patch: Concert Solo Grand 2
Deux Arabesques L. 66, Claude Debussy
Patch: Church Solo Grand (Fully Open Lid)
Hungarian Dance No. 1, Johannes Brahms
Patch: Jazz Club Solo Grand
Flight of the Bumblebee, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
Patch: Bright Studio Ensemble Grand ("Ensemble" here means "suitable for playing in an ensemble", not "lots of pianos"!).
PIneapple Rag, Scott Joplin
Patch: Music Club Grand
Venus the Bringer of Peace, Gustav Holst (arr. Shundong Li)
Patch: Resonant Pad (showing off one of the FX pads for extra space)

Yup, dissonant in places! I guess love doesn't always run smooth... there's a lot of pedal work on an already sustained patch, too, which adds mystery.

Sonata No 16 in C major k545 First Movement
Patch: Chamber Solo Grand 1 (what else??)

This does show off the bad and good about Sibelius's "inbuilt" trills. Mostly good, a couple of "huhs".

2nd Symphony 3rd Movement, Gustav Mahler
Patch: Church Piano Grand

Why a Church ambience? Some people say Mahler is a religious experience!
