Merge playback configurations from multiple libraries

Struggling to use multiple sound sets together in Sibelius? Our Playback Configuration Merge Tool makes combining libraries easy.

Merge configurations from multiple sound sets into one master setup. Mix and match instruments from different developers. Create complex templates combining NotePerformer, VSTs, and more.

Merge any playback configurations

  • Combines instruments, presets, and settings
  • Retains all your customization and values
  • Works with any 3rd party or custom configs

Complex templates made easy

  • Combine NotePerformer, VSTs, sound sets
  • No more switching limited configurations
  • Avoid instrument conflicts and overlaps

Streamlined workflows

  • Eliminates repetitive configuration steps
  • Reduces loading delays in complex scores
  • Saves time and headaches in complex projects

Now ending: a world of pain

Using a third-party Sibelius sound set (or your own custom sound sets) with another library has traditionally meant a lot of work, or was simply impractical for all but the most determined users.

Well, not any longer. Now you can use everything everywhere (subject to memory!)*

* You will still need to import appropriate house styles into your score (there's a helpful document you can download below: "Using your sound set in existing compositions.pdf"

More details

My tool will painlessly merge any playback configurations you have, while copying over all your valuable presets.

This tool is the key to freeing you from DAWs - a combination of "just-works" Sibelius Sound Sets with Graphical MIDI Tools for tweaking is a DAW-killer: and you have total control!

It also allows you to select various effects for the file (the values for these would be tweaked in Sibelius itself). Note: my tool doesn't copy over the effects from the source files, because managing conflicts and presets was too unwieldy.

Works with any playback configuration (probably)

This works with any playback configurations, not just ours, but obviously with other people's playback configurations, results may vary - this is a beta product.

Combining libraries that use the same sound IDs (such as NotePerformer and Sibelius 7 Sounds) is technically possible but a bit scary to think about (you spend a lot of time in the mixer!).

Once you've created your new playback configuration and loaded it into Sibelius, you can mess with it yourself and re-save.

Bonus: this process also gets rid of the "massive delay between each operation" that happens when an external VST is attached to NotePerformer, which is caused by Sibelius unnecessarily combing vast amounts of XML every time it has to work out what instruments are in the mixer.

Thanks for supporting my Sibelius Sound-Set development! Check out the other sound sets. I plan many more for libraries big and small, with a special focus on instruments that are outside the core of most orchestral libraries.
