Fully integrated sound set for Spitfire Studio Brass Pro

Take your brass scoring to the next level with the deeply sampled Spitfire Studio Brass Professional library integrated for Sibelius. Our sound set gives you easy access to the entire articulation range and mic options (note: you must already own the library!).

Craft amazingly expressive brass parts with multiple mutes, true legato, marcato, swells, rips, falls, and more. Expansive sections with doubled horn, trumpet, and trombone ensemble sizes.

Total professional brass articulation coverage

  • Solo instruments + ensemble patches
  • True legato, marcato, sforzando, mutes, rips, falls, more
  • Intuitive notation control of every detailed technique
  • Almost 300 custom patches

Deeply expressive pro brass at your fingertips

  • Emotive legato passages, bold marcatos, delicate mutes
  • Expansive section writing with bigger ensemble patches
  • Add richness, power, and detail quickly

Optimized setup and use

  • Simplified mic and mix control from the score
  • Minimized resource handling (though 16Gb min, 32Gb recommended)
  • Works great alone or with NotePerformer and Sibelius, or with other libraries.

Curious about the library? If you've got 10 minutes, have a listen.

Our extra patchesOur extra articulations
Piccolo Trumpet 2Sfz
Horns 3 and 4, Horn Ensemble 2Long Marcato
Trumpets  3 and 4, Trumpet Ensemble 2
Trombone 2, Trombone Ensemble 2
Tuba 2

The sound set doesn't address the use of the "ostinatum" (Spitfire's version of an arpeggiator), but of course you could always pop up the patch concerned and turn it on yourself, then everything output by Sibelius to that patch would play).

My friendly template takes you through all of the patches and articulations - with smaller versions of the template that fit onto a 16Gb computer.

I wrote a plug-in that allows you to control the mic mix direct from Sibelius for both the "Mic" and the "Stereo" patches.

Demos

Here's a short demo of peppy 1960s classic "Land of 1000 Dances"

In order to get this playback here's what I did:

  1. installed the sound set
  2. loaded a regular NotePerformer version I got from YouTube user @5mirablue
  3. switched to a "Spitfire Studio Brass Professional Stereo with NotePerformer" configuration (this comes with the Sound Set!)
  4. imported the house style "Spitfire Studio Brass Professional
  5. selected each brass stave and chose the relevant instrument from a new, handy list
  6. (optional) added staccato markings to all of the accented eighth notes (except the ones that aren't really eighth notes).

Obviously I could have refined this to the nth degree with the vast number of articulations available: for instance, hardening up the low brass sounds with the "cuivre" articulation.

Here's something that has had more tweaking done on it, and it shows both the strengths and weaknesses of the library.

Requirements: Sibelius 7.5+, Kontakt Player 5.6.8+ (or Retail Kontakt 5.8.1+), 16/32Gb of RAM depending on how much of the library you use. Of course, you have to own Spitfire Studio Brass Professional and Sibelius (full version, not the cut-down one).
