OK, so it turns out that some installations of MacOSX have an issue with running certain AppleScripts - they don't bother to ask permission, they just run it and fail. Confirmed as a bug, but I've had to work round it using an entirely different way of doing things (which is actually an improvement). What it's actually doing is confirming which Kontakt Player libraries are on your disk - this is because it needs to use one of them as a fake host to make Sibelius autoload work.
